Luxor is the centre of cultural tourism in Egypt and houses some of the most famous monuments in the world. Difficult knowing where to start as far as placing order against these treasures, but you can't go far wrong with the Luxor Temple. Like most Egyptian religious structures, it includes chapels to the gods and anterooms and a large hypostyle hall as well as a colonnaded open courtyard. Then there's Karnak Temple. It consists of the large Amun Temple, the Temple of Khons as well as a Festival Temple of Tuthmosis III. And then there's the Valley of Kings (Biban el-Muluk) which is dominated by a natural rock pyramid. You'll need plenty of time and energy to make the most of your trip here.
